When are surgeries held?
James holds regular surgeries in the four towns of the constituency. There is no need to make an appointment - James sees all constituents in private who attend during the slot.
What happens at surgeries?
The surgery is your chance to meet face to face with James and you are free to raise any subject on your mind. People come to James’s surgery for all manner of reasons ranging from simply wanting to put a point across, to a serious personal problem requiring James’s input, for example a housing, pensions or immigration issue.
James will discuss your problem with you and will let you know at the end of the surgery what course of action (if any is required) he will take. You will then receive a follow-up letter afterwards taking your case forward.
