“I was delighted to hear from my colleague Defence Minister Andrew Robathan MP that Wootton Bassett will be considered as a future location for the Camp Bastion War Memorial,” said North Wiltshire MP James Gray.“The people of the town have shown the greatest honour and support for the armed forces during the repatriation of fallen heroes, and having met soldiers in Afghanistan, I know they value this greatly. I think it only right that Wootton Bassett is considered for the future location of the memorial.”
In his capacity as Chairman of the All Party Group for the Armed Forces, and as MP for North Wiltshire, Mr Gray has visited Camp Bastion and commented on the bravery and essential work undertaken there. He wrote to Andrew Robathan at the Ministry of Defence to follow up his recent question to the Prime Minister, requesting that Wootton Bassett might be considered as the future location of the Camp Bastion War Memorial.
